Pines & Prairie Cattle Co. was founded in 2025 by three cattlemen with one shared conviction: the corridor from Kansas to Texas deserves a dedicated source for top-quality replacement females and herd-sire bulls — backed by people who answer the phone and stand behind the cattle they sell.
Zach Hopson runs the Texas side from Nacogdoches, deep in the East Texas piney woods. Daniel Unruh in Rantoul, Kansas, and Derek Jackson in Council Grove, Kansas, anchor the north end out on the Flint Hills. The name says it plain — pines on one end, prairie on the other, and a single program connecting the two.
Our focus is straightforward: replacement heifers, bred heifers, cow/calf pairs, and mature cows — plus bulls for sale and seasonal bull leasing. We move cattle that fit your country, your calving window, and your budget. If they will not work in our own pens, we do not put them on a trailer to yours.

Every animal vaccinated, BVD-PI clean, and (where applicable) BSE and trich tested.
We post the cattle that are actually here. No stock images, no padded weights.
If something comes up after the sale, you call. We pick up. That's the deal.
